Growing out your hair can be a frustrating process when you don’t see instantaneous results. Be sure to always remember the number one tip: PATIENCE. Let’s just say if you were stranded in a tower, you might need to think of alternate escape plans – you wouldn’t be able to Rapunzel your way out overnight. Remember these tips throughout the process, and consult with your hair stylist for additional input!
-
Wash Less
Washing your hair everyday can be tempting, but it strips your hair of natural oils that keep your hair healthy (and help it grow). If you need to tip your head back in the shower, simply rinse your hair without using shampoo. Make sure that you condition your hair each time you shower to help prevent breakage, but limit the shampooing to three or four times per week.
-
Be Gentle
Remember to be gentle with your hair. This begins right when you step out of the shower. Instead of rubbing your wet hair with a towel, simply squeeze out the excess water with a towel, and then try to let your hair air dry to avoid extra damage. If you are going to use any hot styling tools, make sure that you protect your strands with the right products. Talk to your hair stylist at bob+paige about heat protectant products that work for you!

Eat well, Drink well, Grow well
It all starts from within! A healthy diet is reflected in your hair, skin, and nails. Make sure that you are including things like vitamin B and Omega-3s in your diet. These can help keep your hair strong and smooth. Drinking a lot of water to stay hydrated can also benefit your hair health. Try drinking eight glasses of water each day and you will see benefits not only in your hair, but in your overall health.
-
Know the Ingredients
Knowing the ingredients of your hair products is just as important as knowing what ingredients are included in the foods that you eat. Avoid hair products that contain sulfate or silicone. These types of chemicals can dry out your hair and slow down the growing process. Trim your Hair
The longer you wait between trims, the higher up your strands your split ends will move – which will only force you to cut your hair more often. Ask your hair stylist to take off less than an inch every 8 to 10 weeks to prevent split ends before they even start.
Time to get growing!
